Post navigation for paginated posts

When using the <!–nextpage–> option from WordPress for splitting a post into multiple pages, the Post Navigation from the theme doesn’t work properly. It should add the appropriate pages as Previous and Next from the paginated post, instead of different posts.
Also, paginated posts should have link rel=”prev” and link rel=”next” tags as per Google’s guidelines. Same as paginated Category/Tags pages have.

They should have similar settings.

Using
<!--nextpage-->to break a post will result in numbered pagination under a post content, which is what I had shown you in my screen-cast.
It’s for breaking up a post content into pages. It’s still within the same post.This has noting to do with previous and next post navigation. They are different features.
And of course the link rel=”prev” and link rel=”next” tags that are missing.
They are not missing, it’s found within the link.
