  • Try deactivating all plugis (again)

Reset the plugins folder – using FTP, change the name on the plugins folder to something else (i.e. pluginsHOLD)

    Switch to the default theme

If that solves it, reverse your steps one by one to identify where the problem is.

thanks! I did what you suggested and found that it is the theme. I have this exact theme running on another site and it has no problems at all. Copied the single.php file from the other site to this problem site to see if that would help and still have the problem. Here’s the weird thing – some of the posts that have been written months ago are fine and even one done a day or so ago, but then others done months ago are having this issue of no content and the wp login bar at the top not showing. A post done a day ago is showing fine where another post done this morning has the issue.

could it be some server side thing happening? The owner’s son installed microsoft office 365 on that domain. He made a new dns record. I haven’t touched a thing, could this be the culprit?

Could be, hard to say, lots of variables. Have you tried reinstalling the theme? (Make a back-up of your site first.)

what do you mean by reinstalling theme? I turned off the theme and used 2012 to test. Do you mean totally deleting it and then uploading again?
