Post not supported on server

  • I have tried publishing a post and, while it has been posted to the home page, whenever I click the link to the post, I get the error message
    “404 Not Found
    The requested URL /basil-tomato-and-brie-penne/ was not found on this server.”

    I have tried publishing other posts but this always happens. Any suggestions?

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

    Thank you! It now works. I want to set my permalink structure to have only the post name after the .com . However, when I do that, I get the error message. I can doing it this way “.com/%postname%/” From what I understand that is the right structure. I have read that I need to do something with the Apache web server. Can you please explain to me how to do this?

    Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is running on your server.
