• Hi,
Since Friday when I added some more posts to my website, the order of the posts isn’t in chronological order when viewed on desktop, but it is chronological and correct in mobile verison. Any way to solve this?

    Thanks,
    Andy

    HI Andy,

Sorry for the late reply and not getting back to you.
I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here. The only thing that I can think of is that masonry is adjusting the post weirdly. It does that sometime.

The only way that I could have a look would be to have a good look at your site. And I think that the best way for me to dig into it, would be to get a copy of it. If you can send me a back up of your entire WP, I’m happy to do it for you. If it is a bug in the theme, I should really fix that. I may not be able to do this right away, but if that’s of interest to you let me know.

Thanks, what’s your email address to send latest back up to?

oh strange, have resent again. maybe it’s in your junk?

A work around is to use this plugin

    https://hsameer.com.np/simple-custom-post-order/

It is working on WordPress 4.2.4

I use this to put my posts in alphabetical order

    Hope this helps

thank you! will try that now

    Did it fix?

Hi, I installed it and that worked, but I’m still on WordPress 4.1.7 and worried if I update to 4.3 my site may not work, as that’s happened before. If I update WordPress to 4.3, will it get rid of any changes I’ve made to the theme?

Making changes to the WP version should not affect the theme.
BUT if/when I release a new theme version, you will lose your changes.
If you are making changes to the theme, you should make a child theme.

I don’t know if I’ll release a new version soon though. I have too much work right now and simply don’t have time.

ok thanks for letting me know, I will try and figure out how to make it a child theme. I’ve found a few guides online to help, but can’t tell if it means I need to make changes in my control panel or directly in WordPress?
