post/page headers translucent color issue?

  • In the customizing section for the theme…there is the theme, header & menu, links, and then the post/page headers to adjust colors for

    It’s the last one that I’m finding confusing…its set to use the ‘featured image’ (i cant get it to fit quite how i want regardless of cropping but thats another issue). But it has a strange color overlay making the image dim/fuzzy…

    i’ve looked at different threads about making that translucent but i dont see a # color for that and things seem to point in the direction of needing a custom css added, which im not sure how to do here specific to just this area vs everything else?

    im also just not sure what the point of the color overlay is here? why would anyone not want their crisp clear uncolored image not showing up as intended?
