post thumbnail disappear

  • Hi All,
    I’ve one problem with post thumbnail. I used WP 3.4.2. I create a post with a thumbnail. Before that, I change the

    the_content()

    to

    the_excerpt()

    in the theme loop.
    `
    Then I go to homepage (main frontpage), it’s only show the excerpt text…so, where’s my thumbnail?? When I change

    the_excerpt()

    to

    the_content()

    again, my frontpage shows the thumbnail, but the problem is the text appears too long or full article.

    Anyone can show me how the direction to solve my problem?

  • The excerpt, content, and thumbnail are three different things.

    I’m not sure what it’s called. I assume you see any magazines website fontpage, there were couple excerpt contents in small boxes with small thumbnail and little paragraph.

    That’s cool.

    And your goal is to show a small paragraph with a thumbnail picture only (not full post)?

    What theme are you using?

    I use tweenty eleven for this learning. I modify the css and llittle html mark up. I installed wp related post plugin, but lately I uninstall it. Is that caused the problem? or there’s some function need to write on functions php?
