Post thumbnails suddenly not showing.

    Hi All,

    I did try and search the forums first but it doesn’t appear to be working?

    I also googled but couldn’t find anything that gave me an answer,

    Suddenly on my blog – https://www.unlimitedchoice.org/blog the thumbnails for posts are not showing?

    I’ve tried deactivating all the plugins to see if it was a plugin issue but that made no difference.

    Also I don’t believe there’s been any update to my theme – thesis 1.8.5 for quite some time.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hey Esmi, thanks for getting back to me.

    I’ll try the theme option but I’m not sure the default theme for WordPress has the same teaser setup as say, thesis and so it may not help to isolate the issue.

    I just tried resetting the plugins folder to no avail.

    My main thesis version is 1.8.5, I just realised I had 1.8.4 still installed and so I activated that but still had the same issue even with that one activated.

    Any other ideas?

    I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.

    Thanks anyway…

    I’m not convinced it’s a theme issue. If it was, why would it also stop working in an older version?

    I’m also seeking help over at the DIY themes forum but I don’t think it’s conclusive so far if this is a thesis or a wordpress issue.

    1.8.5 has been around a long time and there’s no obvious reason as to why it would suddenly stop working. I may also roll back to wordpress 3.8 as that was the last big update I did.

    Does anyone else have any other suggestions? Whats the quickest way of rolling back my wordpress install to see if that has caused the problem?

    Just an update.

    I did a roll-back to 3.8 but I still have the same issue and I’m no closer to a solution. If anyone does have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

    Just an update:

    For anyone who has a similar issue.

    My problem was fixed by my ISP. They spotted that when they changed the permissions on the directory that had the images it started working again.

    I’m not sure how it got changed in the first place, but my most recent change was the update to 3.8.1
