Post Title too big, how can I resize ?

Flexible Posts Widget doesn’t do any styling. Rather, it works with the existing styles already setup by your theme. If the titles are too big and not spaced the way you’d like, you’d best be served by editing your theme’s stylesheet. You may try the WordPress Codex article called Styling Lists with CSS as it provides a good introduction as to how to style your sidebar/widgets.

Beyond that you might try using a theme with widget styles more inline with what you’re looking for.

Not true with woo themes. Size is set to 12. What I see in sidebar looks like 72!

Flexible Posts widget doesn’t do any styling. All styling is controlled by your theme, even WooThemes. If something isn’t appearing right, then you’ll need to verify it with the theme provider.

If you’d like more help from me, please provide a link where I can review what you’re having trouble with. That way, I can give you specific feedback related to the theme you’re using instead of just guessing.

I have a similar issue. I understand that styling is set by my theme (although I don’t know how to edit themes).

I think what’s causing the issue for me is that the widget seems to display post headings as I think H1, which is much too big for me.

The previous widget I had displayed post headings I think as H3, which was a much better fit for me.

I would really like to use your widget, because I really want to use it to get the thumbnails showing.

Is there any way to change the way the widget displays the headings?

I think I’ve worked it out by installing the two widgets separately, then looking at the source code.

My old widget assigns the posts no title, so it displays them as regular links (= not so big in my template).

Your widget assigns the posts an H4 heading title (= big in my template).

Have I got this right?

Looking at the forum, I think some other people have had an issue with the H4 heading affecting how the posts display…

FPW uses an H4 heading as the “flow” of headings in a default WordPress sidebar makes an H4 the best heading value for the document outline. In other words, a default WordPress sidebar will generally mage widget titles an H3 and thus post headings within a widget should be an H4.

The sizing/styling of headings (including an H4) are controlled by the theme’s stylesheet. So, if an H4 looks too big, you’d want to adjust the font-size for H4s in widgets for your particular theme. I can’t really offer any specific code examples without knowing the specifics of your site/theme.
