Post titles unlinked when on a post in that category

    It seems all the post titles in the widget are unlinked when you’re on any post in that category. Shouldn’t that be the case for only the actual post you’re on?

    In other words, if I have a Recent Posts With Thumbnails widget on one page set for a category of “news”, when I click on any of the posts listed and go to that post, we have the same widget showing there, but all the post titles are now unlinked, instead of just the one relating to the post we’re on.

    How can we change that? Thanks!

    Upon further investigation, I discovered the problem is caused by a custom function have in our child theme’s functions.php file, where we’re hooking into the WP ‘post_thumbnail_html’ filter to make featured images link to a lightbox, so users can see the enlarged image. So, I’ll post again elsewhere with a more relevant question.
