Post Type Archive Query String

I have several custom post types and I want to redirect their archives to a url without a query string.

For example: I want mysite.com/?post_type=cocktails to redirect to mysite.com/cocktails, and mysite.com/?post_type=traditions to redirect to mysite.com/traditions.

I did find this solution, but that rewrites the entire URL structure.

Any help would be much appreciated.
