Post type doesn't appear in admin menu

Have you made sure to set “Show UI” to true? What menu position values are you trying?

yes i’m sure. I type 6 and 7 and 10 and there isn’t change

nourcy, make sure you keep the “post” capability type in place, especially if you’re not doing anything customized for capabilities.

deizi23, check and make sure you have that in place as well for your own issues.

I didn’t change any capabilities, I wanted to test your plugin and my docker is a blank WP without any modifications.
Should I change the capabilities for this custom post?
If so what do you recommend?

just set it back to the default value of “post”. You can compare the “Capabilities type” field to when adding a new post type, to the one you’re currently registering.

It does already default to “post”, it has to be removed/cleared out manually to be lost ??

I’m experiencing a similar issue. I’ve got:

• Show UI = true
• Menu order = default
• Capability type = post

Sam, I believe you have your menu position number in the wrong place. You put it in the “Show in menu” spot, but you want the field right above that one.
