    Hi,

I’ve trying to add tabbed text( using PostUI Tabs ) into the widget, however the tabs don’t show, only the HTML code.

Has anyone else had similar problems or have successfully added tabbed text with another plugin?

I would be grateful for any advice on how to overcome this problem.

    Thanks,

    Will

PS I should add that I’m using the Suffusion theme and I’m trying to add the text, via the widget, into a custom page.

    Hi Will,
I took a look to the PostUI Tabs plugin and I saw that it has a strange behavior regarding its shortcodes hooks. It only applies the shortcodes to post/pages content and it does not declare them at a global level. So they are not processed by the widget renderer (which just make a call to the do_shortcode function), because they do not exist at that level. This is quite unusual and it’s not the WordPress standard way to deal with the shortcodes API (see codex).
I’d suggest to contact the author of Post UI tabs and ask to change this odd behavior.

Otherwise you may try another similar plugin, there are several that provide tabs functionality (via shortcodes or plain html), even if they may have different syntax and may not have editor buttons (you’ll have to type the shortcode or html explicitely).
    I.e.

    Hi Marco,

Many thanks for your reply. The issue does sound a little complicated, however, you’ve given me a couple of good alternatives to work with so I’ll give them a try.

    Thanks once again,

    Will
