post-upgrade dashboard problems

I just upgraded my wordpress, and my dashboard is doing some funny things. Most notably, when I’m writing the post, all of the buttons on top are displayed as text — like “b-quote” instead of a speech bubble or “YouTube” and “GVideo” instead of the emblems for youtube and google video.

That’s not a big deal except for the fact that I also have no choice between how the post I’m writing is displayed. It is always displayed in the html view, meaning if I bold some text, I can’t actually see it bolded, I just get markers. If I insert images, I don’t get to see the image.

Funny thing is, this box that I’m typing in here at the wordpress forum is exactly the same. Is it a problem with my computer, or has wordpress just changed it’s format?
