All of our events posts were posting under a specific user. Doing some maintenance and not realizing that Events Manager was using this user for the auto posting we moved all posts from this user to another user. When we did this we lost the ability to see the events in the Events Manager Plugin, as well as the url’s for the events started returning 404 errors. The only way I have been able to recovery any of the url’s is to search the database for the slug in wp-posts then take that id and apply it manually to the edit url https://www.mymotherlode.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=<postid>&action=edit then if I click update the entire post and it’s url are restored and I can again see it in the events manager. Any help would be appreciated.

just to confirm, can I know what do you mean by auto posting event? also, is this using event submission form ?

When a user submits using the events submission form that anonymous event belongs to a selected user, this was setup years ago and it was saving under an old employees login. We deleted the user and moved all the posts to a new user labeled simply events user. When all the posts were moved to the new user, they vanished inside of events, the count no longer reflected them and the show all posts in events did not show them. In looking in the database we found that none of the post_id’s were in wp_em_events, they were all gone, however we could look at wp_posts where type=’event’ and compare and get a full listing of post ID’s that were no longer in events. If we manually typed the post edit url and added those ID’s we could then hit submit and the post would then be visible in the events manager and the slug/url for the event would then work again. We had so many it was going to be very time consuming to edit each one manually. Was hoping for a workaround to fix it.

maybe you can try to create new user account and then modify it’s user id to match the deleted user id?

Tried that. The only way I found to recover a record is to manually edit the url pasting the post ID that is missing into the edit post url, then clicking update. Then the event is visible again and I can see it in events manager. It also emails out the original sender telling them it’s approved which is a problem since some of these are 4 years old.

you can try to re-save permalinks under WP Settings > Permalinks
