post_status any with get_posts

I should have dug into wp-includes before posting. I see post_status is interpreted by WP_Query, and that it gets any status. Looks like trash would be included with post_status any in that case.

Actually, the current WP_Query post_status documentation is misleading.

In the context of post_status, it says:

‘any’ – retrieves any status except those from post types with ‘exclude_from_search’ set to true.

That implies that exclude_from_search is related to post_status, and it is not. It is a boolean set up for the post_type, when it is registered.
