    Recently had a payment fail with this error…

    Square Payment Failed (Status code BAD_REQUEST: The postal code in billing address doesn’t match the one used for card nonce creation.) Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.

    I assume it means the purchaser’s postal code doesn’t match what is on their card, correct?

    Does Square verify postal code? If so, is there a way to turn it off?

    Her partner then tried with the same card and we see this error for payment failure…

    Square Payment Failed (Status code BAD_REQUEST: INTENT_MISMATCH) Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.

    What does that one mean?

    I just noticed PHP was out of date. Could this have caused the issue?

    Hi there,

    I see payments via Square is throwing errors on your site. While outdated PHP could be an issue, the error could have been caused by other problems as well.

    We’ve seen some reports of the “Postal Code Not Valid” error, and nonce errors from a few sites, but are so far unable to reproduce it, which makes it hard to understand what could be the root cause or what can be done to fix it.

    If you’re still seeing this error for certain accounts or zip codes, can you please submit a support ticket here?

    https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/

    Please include the following information:

    – System Status Report (you can find it under WooCommerce > Status in WP Admin);
    – customer billing address for which the problem happens;
    – customer account info, if it only happens for certain accounts.

    Thank you so much in advance!

    Hi there @sajay,

    We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Not sure if it’s resolved or not. The notice of your reply went to my spam so did not see it right away.

    We’ve had a few sales since updating PHP that have gone through successfully so “maybe”?

    Hi there @sajay,

    In case the issue happens again, please make sure to enable logging in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Square:

    When the same issue happens again, please open a separate thread and send us the logs for this failed order in WooCommerce > Status > Logs > choose square_credit_card from the drop-down:

    Cheers!
