    My post notification template is as follows (Chinese):

    But when the notification gets sent out, the entire blog’s text is sent. Am I doing something wrong here or is there something wrong with the plugin behavior when it comes to detecting other languages when counting characters?

    As explained here, ###POSTDESC### keyword is used to show entire blog post in email.

    You don’t want to entire post in the email? You can use other keywords available. Check here.

    i’m having the same problem. can it just display “excerpt” but not the whole post when using {{POSTDESC}} ???

    as you say “{{POSTDESC}} – use this to show a short description of the post in the email content i.e. it displays only first 50 characters from blog post content”

    please advise how to make it display only first 50 characters from blog post content ??

    Write {{POSTDESC}} keyword in your email template of post notification to send only first 50 characters from blog post content.

    As you said in the previous answer:

    ###POSTDESC### keyword is now changed to {{POSTDESC}} in recent versions of Email Subscribers.

    We are noting down your request to add “excerpt” keyword and we will add it in later version of Email Subscribers.

    Please update Email Subscibers to the latest version 3.5.0+ as it has a new keyword for {{POSTEXCERPT}}.
