    I cannot change or remove ‘posted in uncatagorized’ which appears at the bottom of page1 ebfay.wordpress.com (The editing checkbox always reasserts itself and there are no other category options visible.)
    Some posts suggest that editing various files has fixed this problem in previous versions, but where are those files and how do I access them?
    Any help would be welcome.

    ebfay, I am also new to wp, but from what i understand, you have to pick a category or it will always choose its default (in your case uncategorized)
    You CAN change the name of this category if this helps.

    thank you, raybanm, that makes sense…
    however, when i go to change the category there are no options available: do you know how to fix that? (for now, I’m using a different theme, partly because i cannot seem to change the picture, either)
