I’m a relative newcomer to WordPress – apologies in advance.
Trying to build a WP site, hosted on GoDaddy. Would like to use the Postie Plugin to enable posting by email – have tried myriad combinations of Port # and IMAP as well as POP3 mailserver information, but regardless of settings I get the below error message:

getemails: Unable to write data to POP3 server pop.gmail.com on port 995

I’ve tried with SSL, and without. I’ve tried all combinations of port 110, 995 on Pop, and 143 and 993 for IMAP. I’ve also tried two different email addresses to pull in – one on office365 and a gmail address, with the corresponding different mail servers, and also with all the different port combinations. Always the same error. I’m tempted to think GoDaddy is blocking both outbound ports?
    Any insights very much appreciated-

You are correct. GoDaddy is blocking the ports. You need to use a GoDaddy supplied email. See https://postieplugin.com/postie-godaddy/

    Thank you-
I’d seen that support page in my own research and tried it’s suggestions.
GoDaddy gave me an Office365 email address, which doesn’t connect as I noted in my OP. I guess my assumption that because GoDaddy supplied the email, paired it with my domain, and is hosting my WP site, it would allow this bridge.
I’ll have to figure out how to contact GoDaddy support.
    Thank you again

Any update on this? I have been trying to get this to connect for awhile.

The instructions say the server should be something like a2plcpnlxxxx.prod.iad2.secureserver.net but mine is my domain name. It is not connecting. Any idea?

Contact GoDaddy, they know what the domain name is.

Hi, I am experiencing a similar issue with Office365. Any idea?
