I have recently updated to WordPress 4.7. Since then, Postie has stopped automatically checking for emails. I have also updated Postie to version 1.8.22 with no improvement. If I use the “Process Email” button within the plugin it will check and pull the email. It just wont check on its own automatically. Is this a known issue? And is there a fix?

  • Thanks for this quick first response. I had a look on the php-errors.log as suggested. When in manual mode the log file corresponds to a right recognition of mail box used and of message upload. When in Automatic mode, nothing occurs (even setting the check every minute and changing pages) and the log file remains empty.

@gegevalence sounds like either debug logging is off or your wp-cron isn’t working.

What happens when you visit <yoursite>/wp-cron.php in your browser with debug logging turned on? You may have to refresh the page a few times.

You were right, there is an issue with cron wordpress in my server environment. ( Checked with WP control , hhtp 412 error detected). I hope this beeing resolved shortly with my service provider.
Thank you again for your help and your work on Postie. Sorry for the inconvenience.
By the way , just to know, is there a way with some feww lines codes to have on the front website end a button that would process mail when activated. This would be nice for my applications.
    Thanks Gérard

Glad you were able to identify it.

I haven’t explored this, but I’m sure you could write something.
