The Postie v1.1.3 update being offered through WordPress is not working. Here are the issues:

    • Update downloads to wp-content folder
    • Download is 0 bytes in size
    • Update does not install; update process fails
    • The Cronless Postie widget is not updated as well

    Hope this helps… Dan

  • I had none of the problems you describe.

But to be clear, I installed the 1.1.3 zip, changed the version to 1.1.2, then did the automatic upgrade.

What do you mean, changed the version to 1.1.2? In the postie.php file?

If you can provide details that would be great. I still get a zero byte file labeled postie113.zip…

    Thanks

That’s a little trick to ‘force’ an upgrade with a plugin–in this case edit wp-content/plugins/postie/postie.php and change the version to 1.1.2.

You might try deleting the plugin, then downloading the zip directly to your local computer, then using the Plugins->Add new->Install a plugin in .zip format feature.

Done deal, thanks. I deleted v1.1.2 and uploaded the v1.1.3 version. Of course, it hasn’t tried to update yet since it just came out. Maybe if I get some time I’ll try editing the version as you mentioned and see if the update works properly.

    Thanks for the feedback… Dan
