• Hello, I’m new to wordpress, 48hrs new, in fact barely have had any sleep this weekend, trying to get my blog up and running ASAP. So proud of myself for figuring out most of it. Accidently reset it twice, but think I have it now.
Anyways, where i”m confused at the moment is I’m about ready to use my site and post some reviews on the specified pages, however, 2 questions/problems:

    1. Do I post on the page via PAGES on the dashboard, or do I create a post? Because when I tested a post, it went directly to my archives for today, did not post to the page as there is no where to indicate what page I want it to go to, well there is a drop down for ‘parent page’ but the only option I have is ‘none’. So what am I doing wrong or I like to call it, almost right?

    2. I have a Parent page, then I have sub categories, ie. Events (parent), Kandy events (sub). Now because I’ll be categorizing my reviews I don’t think I need the Parent page to have any info on them, is there any way to keep them just as the main buttons on my home page and the button that holds the sub categories but stop them from being clicked on and sending a visitor to them?
if there isn’t I’ll fill the pages with something colorful, but if I could just make them irrelevant that would be my first choice.

Thanks so much for all your help. I’m excited to be a part of this wordpress society.

    cheers
    Tina T
