    Forgive the newbie question.

I created a page for Blogger Bios.

On that page that is all I want posted. I want bloggers to post a blog about themselves.
How can I make it so they can post their bios in that page and not the main page?

    Can anyone help me?
Or point me to instructions on how to do this.

    You can NOT.

I created a page for Blogger Bios.
Never use Pages for displaying posts. Pages are NOT for that.

You may want to learn (a lot) about Author_Templates. Pay special attention to the resources at the bottom of the page!

    Then what are pages for?

I will read the link you provided. Thanks.

The way i understand it, pages are staic which means they are for one subject only that people can leave comments on. For instace on my site i have a pages for my school notes. i have a page called microwave theory, subnetting basics, food for thought, wireless security and etc etc. Each page has info ONLY pertaining to that subject. What i would love is to have it so when some one hits my server, it takes them to a staic page first with in wordpress, then they can click a link that says blog which would take them to the “main” blog page.

Then study your own admin panel because that feature is built-in!
    admin > Settings > Reading.

I’m trying to do something similar.
I want to use a static page as my ‘landing page’.

I reconfigured in the admin. Created a page called Frontpage and a page called Blog. When I visit the main domain sure enough the Frontpage is the page shown. The problem (small problem I have) is I still have Home, Blog and FrontPage being displayed on the Navigation Menu and Home always being the first displayed. If I edit FrontPage then these show for the FrontPage and Home.

I guess I’d just like to have the page I edit – i.e. Frontpage always to be referred to as Home and not appearing a second time as FrontPage. If I change the status to Private then it does remove FrontPage from the menu then sticks the word Private when the Home Page is displayed!
