I have set up my WP Blog on my own server/domain to allow posting by e-mail and I’ve sent a test e-mail to it.

Having searched these forums, I’ve found this:

The mail is waiting to be collected by the wp-mail.php script.
When you visit https://yourblogsite.net/wp-mail.php the mail will be collected and posted into your blog.
This can be done automaticly by a cron job ( read: scheduled task running the wp-mail.php )
It wont run by itself, you have to trigger it one way or the other.

Is there a setting within the Dashboard that schedules cron jobs or do I have to manually process the e-mail posts? If the latter, that really negates the purpose of posting by e-mail if you have to access your blog via a browser anyway to bring in the e-mail posts.

I set up email posting for my blog as well. I just tried sending an email to the page with a picture attached, and the picture was displayed as ASCII text!! There were about 50,000 characters of gibberish displayed on the screen. How can I set up my blog to post pictures that I send attached to emails?
