Where are you getting this message?

I just changed themes and now it seems to be working. This was happening on the oasis theme.

Lee, you have to be more specific, like give us a web page address or spell out the error. We’re not sure if you are talking about a posting on this forum, a comment section on your site closed, problems with comments, or problems with posts.

i have the same problem as the the original poster.

Trackbacks to my wordpress doesn’t seem to work. I used https://redalt.com/External/trackback.php to test my site and a error appeared: “Sorry, posting has been closed for the time being.”

I use a heavy modified Kubrick theme.

Are you using any plugins to auto-close comments after a certain period? Are you using any anti-spam plugins? If so, try disabling them, to confirm that they are not the problem.

Thank you. This one solved the problem … I used the Gatekeeper plugin, which expects the answer of a simple question at each comment post. Obviously this is also needed for the trackbacks … ??

Any hints on a gatekeeper (to avoid comment spam) that does not break the trackback functionality?

Ok, there is a new Version of Gatekeeper that does the job.

The best anti-spam solution I’ve found is Bad Behavior. It detects specific bot behaviour and prevents them from even seeing your comment form. It has substantially reduced the amount of comment spam on every site which has installed it.
