Posting code examples in posts?

Hey everyone. I’ve been trying to get code to display as regular code within pages. I’ve tryed using a few code syntax plugings, only to no avail. I’m doing a few articles on customizing wordpress, and whenever I insert code between the code tags, WP just removes it, or, if it’s php code (ex: code to grab the page title in between title tags), WP just parses the code like any old php.

Any plugin work really well that I haven’t found yet?
