• We have an informational website for our arts magnet school in Denver, CO. Frequently there are emails that go out to the entire department or to specific choirs. Recently there was a request to have these emails available on the website for review. Other than converting the emails into a post, is there any kind of plug-in that might make this more efficient or provide a different method for having these available to the students and families? Thanks for your suggestions.

  • Hi Richard,

I can help but I need to understand the exact scenario. Could you please explain the problem with an example?

Our communications coordinators send out email blasts to the department, either to the entire email list or specific groups (choirs) I believe they are using constant contact to do this. Parents have asked if there is a way to have those emails available on the website. I’m sure for various reasons… but the request is out there.

In the past I have taken the email and manually converted it into a post. Which is simple to do, it just takes time. I am just curious is there is a more efficient way to do this. Automatically have the emails listed on a page that could then be opened and read…?

If you look at our site and the News Updates section on the homepage – you will see the emails I have converted. “Updates for our Middle School Choir”, etc. All of these messages were sent out to either the entire department or just a specific choir. I am using the Expiration plug-in to ensure “old news” doesn’t stay on the site forever.

Let me know what you think.
    Thanks

Thank you @rraedeke for the details. Now, I have a clear picture of what you are looking for.

May I ask what tool you are using to send out these emails?

While doing some research, I found this plugin (I have not tested it but I hope you find it useful): https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/postie/

Another suggestion: If you use tools like mailchimp for sending out emails, the tool offers an archive page that shows a list of all past emails.

You can simply post that link on your website so users can view the SENT emails anytime without you re-posting it in a separate blog post and you will eliminate the duplicate work effort.

    Thanks for the good thoughts.
The coordinators use a Constant Contact Account. See as one of those coordinators is my wife, I will look into that program and see if it offers the same kind of archive feature. Putting a permanent link on the site would be easy and efficient….

    Thank so much!

    You are welcome @rraedeke

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I can help with something else.
