Posting only child categories

  • Hi everyone. I was trying to figure out how to do this, and I’ve searched through the forum and the one thread I came across that seemed to address this was really confusing for me (no clue about php).

    Basically, in my blog https://www.roguenomad.com, I’m planning on putting each category in the horizontal menu alongside login, home, etc. , then on the sidebar display the child categories.

    Can anyone help me with this? I’d really appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks in advance! ??

    I’ve finally found out how to do this, but now a couple questions arise… is there any way to show its fellow sub-categories?

    Like if I was browsing Food which displays apple and banana, then went into Apple, while in Apple can I get the list to display banana?
