Posting only summary with Misty

  • I would like to only display the first few lines of each post in the index page (main page). I tried the option “summary” in the “Options” menu, but it has a diffeent purpose.

    My question is 2-fold:

    – Did I miss an option someplace?
    – If not, Has anyone developed an add-on to The Loop to include this feature.

  • That summary you’re looking at is for the rss feeds, not the display of the posts.

    Best bet would be to open up the index.php file that comes with the theme and change the the_content(); call to the_excerpt(); and resave the file.

    The_Loop for more details.

    Either that or use the <!--more--> tag within your posts.
