• I am unable to post new blog entries because when I go to save a post I get a white out. Everything works fine until I click on the “save and continue editing”, “save” or “publish” buttons. Interestingly, the title appears, but not the text or images. Whats also strange is that even with the white out, the post is still saved in my admin as a draft. When I tried to work on the draft this morning, there was a string of about 100 urls for prescription medication at the end of the saved draft. Even if I try and edit previously posted blogs, it wont let me.

Also, in the administration, all of my uploaded images have disappeared. The last image I tried to up load some how is there, but I cant view the image. I am unable to upload any new images too. I can pick an image but as soon as I try to upload it, the image just loads for an infinite (or close to infinite) amount of time.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

    My blog is: https://www.growingedge.com/blog

You need to upgrade. There were security issues with 2.1.3 as you’ve well found out.

You very well could have been hacked, not withstanding the problems you are having. Meaning, that you could have been hacked and not be having any noticeable problems.

    suggestions:

    Upgrade your WordPress.

Thanks for the quick feed back. I will try it out.

Nick, I am using the wordpress hosted online editing tool. I had the same problem yesturday. Its the WordPress servers. Give it a few days for them to figure it out. Then try again.

    irocket,

you dont have a clue what youre talking about, the OP not on wordpress.com

Please dont pipe in and provide bad advice to ppl.

Interesting. I have the exact same problem as Nick. Pictures not present after they are uploaded, Posts not posting after publishing, completely whited out areas of the editor. And interestingly enough, over the past 6 months whenever i upload a graphic and give it a title and try and send it to the editor, I get this white out effect, so I stopped giving the graphics a title and the white out effect stops occurring. I can also then publish the post and it actually appears on the blog.

OK so Nick’s blog is hosted on his own server. My Bad. But my solution was just as inconsequential as the end all solution of “upgrade your software” especially when the same problem is occurring with someone not using the software.

    (waits for real solution)

if you are having a problem with a blog hosted on wordpress.com than you’re asking on the wrong forum. No-one here can help you with those issues.

The wordpress.com support forum is over here:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

Furthermore, telling someone to upgrade an install that is known to be exploitable after they have provided empirical evidence that their site has been exploited is not inconsequential.

    Its the answer.

Merely telling someone to fix the symptoms doesn’t address the real problem, and doesnt make his site any more secure from future attacks.
