Posting takes ages

  • To post a topic it takes forever!! It does actually post a topic very quickly…open another IE with the log and it has been posted…but the actual post i am publishing still claims to be ‘thinking’!!
    Should’nt it just be immediate if it has finsihed publishing??

  • Sounds more like something is not quit ‘snappy’ on your server. At least it has nothing to do with WP.

    I noticed the same thing lately. I’ve changed quite a bit in the past couple of days though, so can’t verify it is my server or if it’s my wordpress. Will be watching this topic for anyone else’s input.

    its more related to pinging the blog directories… asked and answered a thousand times already.

    yeah, turn off pinging and it should go like the wind.

    How do i turn of pinging….sorry im an amateur!

    it might be your mailserver too, if you have emails sent as the result of an action on the site. if the mailserver is busy php will make the browser hang until the mail is sent.

    I had the same problem. Pinging several sites can be sluggish at times. I switched back to only use the pingomatic and never had problems since.
