I have not been able to to figure out what is going on atm.
    anybody maybe have some ideas?

This just started happening to sites of mine too. Did you end up finding out what was wrong?

Has anyone figured out what the root of this problem is? I currently face exactly the same problem.

I have not been able to resolve it. It seemed like it was hosting related, because it happened to 30+ resold accounts I have on InMotion overnight, using multiple GMail accounts. However, I have a second InMotion reseller account that has sites using Postman with the same settings that were unaffected. InMotion was also unhelpful in resolving anything on the server to fix it–their tickets kept saying nothing had changed on their end and deflecting back to me–although a live chat rep working with a technician apologized and said the problem looked to be on their end…and then nothing came of it.

I ended up just manually changing Postman’s settings on all the sites to use GMail API instead of Google SMTP, and mail sent successfully again.
