Posts are there but links to content go nowhere….

First off, go to settings->permalinks and hit save. That will refresh your permalinks.

Thanks Christian–I just did and it hasn’t changed. Do I need to add the content again? Also “Custom structure” was the only thing selected–is that correct?

Let’s confirm it’s not a permalink problem. In settings>permalinks, select Default and click save. Let’s see if we get anywhere with that.

Yes I see that. However, every single link is set to navigate to https://kitcross.ca/experiment1, which doesn’t exist. In your theme, the link is generated by the WordPress function the_permalink(), which apparently is returning the same permalink for everything, I’m trying to figure out why.

Christian–that’s perfect!! Many thanks–you fixed 3 weeks of total frustration! I can now go back to watching the videos and figuring out how to to the rest.

Will it stay like this? (I’m not sure what I did to make it change to begin with!)

That’s no problem, and hold your horses, we’re not done yet. That indeed works, but that’s not the best solution. Again in settings>permalinks, in Custom Structure, add this in the box, and hit save:

/%category%/%postname%

FYI: The reason we’re doing this is so you’re site can have what’s called Pretty Permalinks, so rather than https://kitcross.ca/p=4, you have https://kitcross.ca/category-name/this-is-my-post.
