posts categories

  • I have been working on setting up my blog, I have created 4 categories for posts but when I click on apply and preview the main page, it says there are no categories.

    The names and slugs are as follows:

    Sprang Publishing Financial financial
    Sprang Publishing Spiritual spiritual
    Sprang Publishing Nutrition nutrition
    Sprang Publishing Health & Fitness health-fitness

    I have not made any posts yet, could someone please tell me why they don’t show when I click on preview? I have a feeling there is something else I need to do, or something else is missing.

    Looking again at your instructions and the code you provided, I’m not sure what you mean by <body> Here </body>: <!–Start of the Post–>

    Can you select the text in the editor? If the cursor is advancing there is a chance the editor is outputting white text.

    try:
    – flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches.

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    well…I followed your suggestions, deactivated all plug ins, used a default theme, and I still have the same problems.

    When I click on “add new post” I typed “hello” then I used the mouse button to highlight it, at the point I could see what I typed, but as soon as I let go of the mouse button, it disappears.

    I tried a different browser, Firefox, I entered https://www.myurl.com/wp-login in the address bar, all that does is give me search results, none of which are my URL, so that was kind of lame.

    I noticed that when I click on all posts, then clicked on “quick edit” I am able to enter the “title” and “slug” and that works fine. Now if there was only a way to enter or edit the body of the post, my issues could be resolved.

    I have been messing around with this for the better part of a week now, and I am about to the point of scrapping this whole WordPress project. Thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to respond. Your instructions, suggestions, and hints are all very much appreciated. If anyone has any other ideas or information that would be useful, please let me know before I give up and try something else.

    p.s. I really would like to use www.ads-software.com because it gives me total control, even though I feel like I don’t have any control at this time.

    one other thing.

    I noticed that when the mouse cursor is on the text box of a new post it is a plus sign or crosshairs with arrows, is that normal?

    I was wondering if anyone has some other suggestions or ideas that could help me get my blog up and running. I’ve tried everything that has been suggested, and I am still have the same issues. I appreciated everyone who has offered suggestions, but I am at a point where I am about to forget about using Word Press.

    Try

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder from a fresh download of WordPress. by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. (manual upgrade)
