posts disappeared

I just uploaded a new post as draft from ms live writer to my hosted wp blog. When I went in to edit the draft I noticed I only have the last 4 posts in WP.

I went to look at the mysql database and all but the 4 posts are gone. There are revisions of the missing posts are there but no posts.

I have a backup of the database but don’t know how to import the backup while only importing the missing posts. Is there a way to do this?

I’m just grateful there aren’t 100’s of posts yet.
