Posts displaying wrong comment information

  • Hello,

    I’m running WP 2.6.3 on a local installation for testing and theme development. It’s going smooth except for a problem in retrieving comment data.

    When I view a single post, it lists the correct comment number, but displays the original ‘Hello world!’ post as the post being replied to, and only displays actual comments from that post.

    I’m using a customized theme which I thought might be the problem, but switching back to the default Kubrick didn’t change anything. The template I made is basically just a CSS hack of Kubrick anyway, so I don’t see how it would have affected anything at the code level.

    The only thing I could find in the Codex and in previous questions was something related to a conflict in wp-includes/widgets.php with the comments template, but I don’t see how that could be the trouble since the single.php file doesn’t call the sidebar. I tried that fix anyway, just it case it was code-wizardry, but no luck.

    Needless to say I’m stumped. Any help/insight would be appreciated.

    Any ideas here? I still haven’t managed to find a problem or a bug issue; any chance it’s a database problem?
