    Is it possible to set up this plug in so that only approved users can post? We want the general public to be able to see and respond to ads but only members of my group to post.

    Thanks for contacting me here.

    You can use AWPCP in several modes. One is for allowing users to post ads publicly (Anonymous mode) and one allows only registered users to post (Registered mode). You can change this in AWPCP under Classifieds->Settings, General tab, Registration settings.

    In addition to this, you can also make ads wait for admin approval. That setting is under Ad/Listings tab and allows you to vet the listings before they get posted publicly. Those two settings ought to give you what you’re looking for.

    This post and reply was a huge help to me! Being new to WordPress and AWPCP I am on a steep learning curve about website development as I hail from the Print Graphics world. A long-time client decided to have his website totally redesigned, hired a firm that does that and insisted that I be the one to do the monthly updates. (It’s a monthly fishing publication.) His #! requirement, and he is adamant about this, is that people placing a classified ad ‘did not have to register’!! Thanks to your reply to @cincinnatistuff I was able to turn off the registration requirement. My client is very happy now! Again — Thank You!
