• I Have a multi-blog install and all of the posts have disappeared from all blogs except for one.

    I am using 3.6.1

I am trying to set up 5 blogs.

I imported the posts from movabletype bogs and all of the posts were in the right blogs.

I am not sure at what point the posts disappeared. It appears to be after I moved my .htaccess file as wordpress was giving me a warning that it might be “visible.”

The posts are gone. They do not even show up in the dashboard.

    Your help is really appreciated.

I guess one of the features of wp-dbmanager. It shows up as “Database” on the left side of the dashboard. It says “repair.” I ran it.

As luck would have it, I didn’t have a backup as I was still doing setup on each of the blogs.

    *sigh* Sorry ??

Personally I never recommend using a plugin like wp-dbmanager. It’s fine if the site is small, but once you enter Multisite, you’re asking too much of it. The problem with it is that having WP optimize and repair it’s own DB isn’t as efficient as running it via SQL command line, or even using PHPMyAdmin. Wrong tool for the job, IMO. Especially since Multisite is so darn big!

Thank you for that information. I will uninstall the wp-dpmanager.

I assume this means starting over with setting up the blogs?

That being the case, WP was not putting them where I wanted them to be anyway. Namely, I want

    domain.com/blog1

    and it produces

    domain.com/wordpress directory/blog1

Should I post that question in a separate forum post?

    Thanks Ipstenu for your help.

You may be best off starting over, if there isn’t a huge amount to re-do with the content.

    Namely, I want

    domain.com/blog1

    and it produces

    domain.com/wordpress directory/blog1

You probably installed WP in a folder, but didn’t give it it’s own directory.

    Install WP.

BEFORE Multisite, Give it its own directory

Then Multisite ?? And yes if you need more help with that, new topic please ??
