Posts in Slider and Grid
-
Hello,
On my start page I use the post slider to show like 3-4 new or sticky posts. When scrolling on the same page, there appears “more posts” displayed in a the post grid.
Is there a possibility that the 3-4 posts above in the slider/carousel shown posts are not displayed in the post grid anymore?
I already exclude the sticky posts in the post grid, so that the sticky posts will only shown in the post carousel. The 3 other non sticky posts, which are new posts are also displayed in the post grid.
The offset is not an option because when using pagination it hides always the number of the offset posts from the pagination site.
For example what the offset does on a post grid with pagination and showing 6 posts on each site:
– for example my homepage contains 18 posts and the offset number is 2.
– On the first page it shows posts from new to old on the first page 6 posts from (3-8) [1 and 2 excluded bc of the offset]
– On the second page it starts with the posts 11-16 [9 and 10 excluded now]
I dont know it the offset should work like this, because if not, the offset could solve the problem which I got to avoid duplicate posts with using the carousel and the grid on the same page. (Its not, see EDIT)
EDIT:
I like to explain why a change of the offset is no solution for the problem above.
The carousel I configured displays 3 posts + the sticky ones. But when the sticky ones are also under the newest posts. It just displays 3 posts and NOT 3 new posts (excluding sticky ones) + sticky posts.
A offset fix only works for the problem with a set counter, when it only offsets on the 1.page in the grid like described above and the carousel shows a number of pages while not counting sticky posts the the number (even when the sticky post ist logical wise a new post). sticky posts should be excluded from the carousel counter.
OR it should be possible that the grid or carousel (which is displayed second) can recognize already displayed posts from the element above.
