    Hey all,

I have been looking at my website, nanomedic.org, in the WordPress Reader here. I would like the WordPress.com Reader to present my posts and for my posts to appear in the WordPress.com Reader search.

On desktop I have “No recent posts; This site has not posted anything recently.” and posts do not appear in the WordPress.com Reader search using the relevant tags. Oddly, in the mobile WordPress app by Automattic, Inc, my posts do appear in the WordPress Reader site. Similar to desktop, my posts do not appear in the Reader search using mobile.

    I have checked the following…

    • Checked RSS feed – Nanomedic.org/feed
    • Validated the RSS feed using external sites
    • Ensured I used less than 15 tags per post (most are around 7)
    • Checked using a different WordPress.com account accessing the reader
    • Checked post types aren’t unusual / non-standard (i.e. portfolio)
    • Checked the WordPress site has disabled “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”
    • Site has been live for a few years with Jetpack plugin installed and enabled

I presume, according to post visibility on WordPress.com, I may not have posted enough content for the WordPress.com Reader to understand my sites content to recommend in the Reader search. However, that does not answer why my site’s WordPress.com Reader feed has no recent posts. I’m not sure what else to try but any suggestions will be appreciated!

    Many thanks,
    Matthew.

    Hi there,

I checked the Jetpack connection’s settings for the site https://nanomedic.org/, and right now the site appears disconnected from Jetpack.

As a first step, would you please disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack? You can follow these instructions to do that:

    1. Go to the **Jetpack** menu in your WP-Admin dashboard
    2. Scroll down to find the *Connections* area.
    3. Click *Manage site connection*.
    4. Click **Disconnect** and follow the prompts to complete the disconnection process.
    5. Click **Set Up Jetpack** button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

This handy guide explains the full process in more detail:

    https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/#disconnecting-jetpack

Once your site is properly connected to Jetpack, any WordPress.com user who follows your site will start to see your posts in their Reader. From there, they can visit the post on your site, or like, share, or comment directly from the Reader.

When using the Reader’s search bar, your Jetpack site will appear in the Sites search results for matching search terms.

If you have a paid Jetpack plan that includes backups, your site’s posts will also appear in the Posts search results for matching search terms.

Posts from sites with a paid Jetpack plan that has backups will also be displayed in Tag pages in the Reader. These are pages that display all posts tagged with a specific term, e.g. https://wordpress.com/tag/cats

You can read more about the WordPress.com Reader and Jetpack here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/reader/

I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hey Jay (@bluejay77),

That was it! (At least according to the jptools link) Thank you so much for the quick and helpful reply. I should have known to try the discount & re-connect (pretty much the turning it off and on again). Still odd I could connect via the app and access my wp dashboard.

I presume the posts will appear in the desktop reader within 24 hours like other posts have stated.

    Many thanks,
    Matthew.
