Posts not pushed if created with Android’s WordPress – Website Builder

  • Here is the issue I’m encountering. Not sure why it happens or what am I doing wrong.

    If I create a post using the WordPress – Website Builder app for Android, the post does not seem to be pushed in followers AP inbox.
    If I use the web interface, everything works as expected.

    Can someone replicate?

    Hey @juego, is this the official WordPress App? I see a 404 error when clicking your link.

    Hey @pfefferle. Not sure why you get a 404, the link works for me. But yes, it’s the official app.

    Oh, my fault… you have to use Chrome, otherwise it will throw a 404.

    Sadly I have no android device to test this… Has anyone here any experiences?

    So, I suspect this has to do with the differences between the hooks and APIs that used between the WordPress app vs using the Dashboard via the web. I think a lot of what Jan posted in his recent blog post is also at play(https://jan.boddez.net/articles/the-block-editor-custom-meta-and-activitypub). I want to say that I’ve had issues like this in the past, and my only solution was to begin posts in the app and then just save them as a draft and then finally publishing them from the web via my phone.

    @pfefferle I would think that this issue would happen using the iOS WordPress app as well if that is what you have.
