Hi, I setup WordPress this morning, everything went smoothly .. until I started to have a play with it. I’ve published 4 test posts, each time the ‘preview post’ shows me the post I have just published and all looks fine however, when I look on the site the posts are nowhere to be seen. The category link they come under shows an accurate post count but when I click through there are no posts. Similarly in the admin when I go to Manage > Posts, the link at the top shows ‘Published (4)’ indicating there are posts but when I click through it says ‘no posts found’ … am I missing something obvious here? has anyone else had this problem?

i’m still baffled by this, if anyone could help i would be most grateful. If you go to the blog https://cjs.me.uk/blog/ and take a look you will see under categories i have ‘Daily Blog (2)
Uncategorized (4)’ if you click on these, neither of them show the posts they claim to hold. I’ve checked the database, nothing untoward in there, all the data for the posts is in there, its like theres something stopping them from showing. They are definitely all published posts.

It’s a long shot, but try REPAIRing your wp_posts table with phpMyAdmin.

Deactivate all plugins and change to the WordPress Default theme to exclude any issues with a plugin or theme.

I think i’ve got to the bottom of this. When I installed, I got a message saying my version of MySQL was too old but I checked with the host before i paid for the database and they said it was v5.0.42. I looked through the forum, found where to comment out the part where it checks for the right version and it installed. Subsequently i have found that the version im using is v3.23.58 ! i should imagine this is why the posts are’nt working! I pointed out the problem to the host and they are now moving my site to a server with the correct version.
