Posts on homepage gone after category deletion

Hi Guys,

I was tinkering with my website, and deleted a superfluous category. When I went back to my home page, instead of the five latest posts, I was greeted with “Home”, followed by the word “Home” underneath it, and Blog was added to my menu bar. The posts are all still there within the categories, but not one of them is displaying on the homepage. I tried replacing the index.php file, but the site remained unchanged.
