Posts Order By a custom variable

hello caf team

i have category ajax filter pro and would like to sort my event filter’s Posts Order By setting to a specific variable, one called ‘event_startdate’. this date differs from the post date, which is typically some time before the event start date itself.

is there a way to hack the plugin file to make this happen?
