Posts, Pages & Categories, etc, all give 404 error

    Update: Changing permalinks to default fixes the problem, but I can’t change it to anything else without incurring the wrath of the 404 gods.

    How was your menu set up? if the menu was set manually, the links will all be wrong. Updating them might help?

    It’s not the menus, it’s the posts and pages themselves. [ie on the page “Edit post” you can click “view post” and if the permalink is on default, it works, but if it’s not, it doesn’t. And default permalinks are ugly.]

    Fixed! The guy that runs my server is a godsend, he fixed it for me. He said something about there being something new in WP8 that doesn’t work as well for non-Apache servers? Not sure. He was pretty grumbly about the whole thing.
