Posts Reverting to Draft

We’re using events manager to create webinar pages. Past webinars, if they have an expiry date, where we keep recordings have started reverting to draft status any time their edit page is accessed. If the expiry date is removed they show up with the upcoming webinars we’re trying to get registrations for. I have tried disabeling all other plugins and the issue persisted.

I set up a separate event type for recordings to get around this but now there is an issue of the button saying “register for event” instead of “watch recording”.

How can I either
a) update the button for the recording event type to say “watch recording”
or
b) fix the issue with past events unpublishing themselves
