Posts show 'comments off'

You can check on your WordPress admin if commenting option has been disabled.

Settings > Discussion > Check “Allow people to post comments on new articles” > Save the changes

If this does not work then please let me know which theme you are using.

I am using ‘intrepidity’ on https://www.totalwholeness.mentorsnotebook.com/blog I used the same theme on another blog: https://www.hearinggod.mentorsnotebook.com/blog and comments are OK. Difference? Same plugins, etc. -S
