Posts showing up on home page in IE only

I do not want posts to display on the homepage. WP site works in Firefox and Safari but is showing a bunch of junk posts on the top of my homepage in IE. Did a search and tried a number of different fixes by making changes in my Settings –> Reading preferences and none of them seem to fix the problem.
