Posts showing up twice

Hi there. I’m using this plugin as a widget in my posts sidebar, as a Table of Contents. I love the ability to collapse/expand the categories and subcategories, and see the posts listed underneath each. However, my posts are showing up twice in the list, under their respective subcategories and under the parent category. I can’t share the page as it’s in development but here is a screenshot. Any ideas? I can’t hide the second list via CSS because it has the same li class as the previous list.
