Posts tab on member profile

Hi,
I have read elsewhere that there is no option in UM to allow front-end post submissal in UM.
Why is the tab there then?
When I ask like this it’s because I have an understanding of the plugin to be a foront-end tool for member activities.
If I want to use the Post tab I need to allow Members access to the back-end of WordPress where they can create and edit posts.
Or am I wrong/have I totally misunderstood the concept? ??
